Introduction to this page

See what metadata has been applied to the file and make edits directly from the preview.

Good to know: When you're viewing files in this mode, you can quickly return to the space or folder view by pressing Escape (ESC).

Step-by-step: 

1. Select the file you want to view. 

2. Click View in the right-hand sidebar. The preview will open.


3. Click on the Edit tab.

4. Chorus will show all the available metadata fields that you can edit to add or remove metadata from the file. 

Once you have added all metadata, press Save. If you want to remove your edits, press Cancel.

To save and go to the next file, press the right arrow. To save and go to the previous file, press the left arrow. 


Here are the keyboards shortcut which will help you adding metadata faster:

To open the keyboard shortcut popup, press ? on your keyboard, or use the Help > Keyboard Shortcuts menu.


5. Click the Ellipsis button in the top right hand corner of the file preview to open the colors and order options. 


6. Click on the colored dots to open/close all panels with a specific color. 

7. Toggle on the ‘Reorder panels’ button to show handles on panels. You will then be able to reorder panels into your desired order by holding and dragging a panel into its new position.


8. To go back to the inherited order, press the Reset order button.


9. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to open and close all panels at once.


Good to know: Any changes you make to how metadata panels are ordered will only display for you and not affect any other users.
