Introduction to this page

A role is a set of customized permissions, created by a manager of a space.

Roles allow managers of a space to group member permissions for ease of use.

There is no limit to the number of roles that can be created in a space. For more, see About: Member permissions and roles.

Step-by-step: 

1. Select the space you want to manage.

2. Click Manage Space in the right-hand sidebar.

The Manage Space modal will open at the People tab.

3. Click the Add Role button below the Members carousel in the modal.


A New Role will appear.

4. Give this role a short name. Eg. ‘Editors’, ‘Writers’, or ‘Interns’. 

5. Click the the permissions symbols and ellipsis (...) to set permissions for this role.

6. Drag and drop users and spaces of users into the new role.

These members will now have the permissions set for this role.


7.
Click Save.

Good to know: Managers of a space can change the permissions on a role at any time. They can also add or remove members from these roles at any time.
