Introduction to this page

You can only manage a space if you created it, or are appointed as a manager.

Managing a space gives you options to add users, change the metadata catalogs or download catalogs of the space.

To manage a space, follow these steps.

  1. Go to the space and use the tools on the right to access the Manage → This Space... menu item.
  2. If you cannot see this menu item, you are not a manager of the space.

For more details on how to manage space settings and permissions, see C11. Manage users in a space, and also C12. Manage the metadata of a space and C13. Manage the presets catalog of a space.

2. Use the Settings tab to rename or move the space. You can also change the avatar of the space, its color or hide the space from non-members.

3. Use the People tab to add members to the space. You can click Add Role if you need to customise the roles (permissions presets) that exist in the space. You can add users to the space, but only if the "user creation" checkbox on the Settings page is enabled.

4. Use the Metadata tab to set the default metadata for the space. This metadata will cascade to all files and folders added to the space.

In the Actions menu, you can edit the metadata catalog for the space.

5. if you need to delete a space, use the Actions menu and select Delete This Space. Note: If you delete a space, the contents of the space be deleted, but users who only exist in that space will be retained and set to having no primary space. See C14. Delete or restore a space.
