Introduction to this page

Searching looks in all the spaces you can access

Searches will never return results from spaces in which you are not a member. This means that although a file may exist in a Chorus site, you will not see it in search results if it falls outside of your memberships.

Good to know: Chorus search is not case-sensitive.

Step-by-step:

1. Click the Global/This folder menu at the left-hand end of the search bar.

  • Search Global: Search in all of the spaces where you are a member.
  • Search This Folder: Search only in the space or folder currently open in your active viewing pane.

2. Enter search text in the search bar.

You will be presented with a dropdown menu. Pressing enter right away or selecting the first option at the top will start a search for files based on the text you entered so far. The other options in the dropdown correspond to all the containers (folders, collections and smart collections) that match your search query. Clicking on one of them will navigate to that container. As you enter more text, different containers will be presented as your search is refined.

3. Click the ellipsis (...) l at the right-hand end of the search bar to access more search options.

  • Whether to show folders (as well as files) that match your search, in the search results
  • Whether to show all copies (including references to the original in collections or smart folders) in the search results
  • Searching by color.

4. Click the magnifying glass icon to perform a more advanced search with specific fields.

Chorus lets you store your searches! Read more: Save these search results as a smart collection, or Refine this search.
