Introduction to this page

A role is a set of customized permissions, created by a manager of a space.

Normally, roles affect all folders in a Space. If you wish, you can also edit the permissions on individual folders in a Space.

For more, see About: Member permissions and roles.

Step-by-step:

1. Open the space containing the folders you want to manage. You will need to be a manager of that space.

2. Click Manage Space in the right-hand sidebar.

The Manage Space modal will open at the People tab.

3. Click the custom permissions icon next to a role, then click "Folder Permissions" at the bottom of the permissions.

A Edit Folder Permissions user interface will appear.

4. The default permissions for each role are linked together. To make an exception for a folder, click on the icons on the right hand side of that folder.

5. Click Save.

The members of the roles will now have the permissions set for the folders in question.

Normally, folder permissions are inherited. This is generally simpler to manage than setting permissions on each folder. If you need to return a folder's permissions to the default behaviour, click the "Inherit" button next that folder. Click save.
