There are three main reasons why you may be unable to delete an item from Chorus:

1. You may not have permission to delete the item.

TRY THIS: Open the parent folder or space of the item you want to delete and refer to the viewing pane banner of that location.

Click the ellipsis (...) in the pane to see the full list of your permissions in this location: If Delete is not checked, you cannot delete any items in this location.

2. You may have selected more items than you intended.

TRY THIS: Look at the top of your desk’s right-hand sidebar. The number of items you have selected will be shown as a number.

If you have selected any items that you cannot delete, you will not be able to delete any of the items in your selection.

In this case, deselect unwanted items, or click in an empty area of a pane and begin your selection again.

3. You may be trying to delete a reference file.

References can be removed, but not deleted.

Click Remove in the right-hand sidebar to remove a reference. In doing this, you are not deleting the original file to which the reference refers. The original remains elsewhere in the site, in the space or folder that owns it.
