RAW DRAFT ONLY: SCREENSHOTS TO COME

How are people organized in Chorus?

There are three levels of account-holders in Chorus:

1. Site admins
2. Users
3. External users

All Chorus account-holders receive a desk of tools and their own unique home space.

Good to know! There is no limit to the number of user accounts you can create for your Chorus site.

Site admins

Site admins are users who have been assigned the duty of administrating the site.

  • Site admins have access to Admin tools that are hidden to other users
  • They must sign in, or 'elevate', to access these tools.
  • There can be one or many site admins in a Chorus site.

Site admins have global powers in a Chorus site.

They can:

  • Create, administrate, and delete all spaces.
  • Create, administrate, and delete all users.
  • View, upload, edit, download, share, and publish any file in any space.
  • Create and edit site-level metadata catalogs.
  • Create and edit site-level download catalogs.
  • Impersonate all other users and access the home space of any user.

For more about site admins, see D1. Understand site admin responsibilities.

Users:

  • Every Chorus user has a user name, user profile, and home space.
  • Every Chorus user is granted a personal storage allowance in their home space.*
  • A user's home space is located in their primary space.

About external users:

  • External users are temporary users created for ad-hoc work in a specific Chorus space.
  • External users have no storage allowance in their home space.
  • External users cannot view, edit, upload, download, share, or publish files unless invited to do so in a specific Chorus space or folder.
  • External users cannot delete any item from a Chorus site.*

All users can be allocated roles and permissions according to the space in which they are working. For more on roles and permissions, see >>A3.3 Spaces and permissions.
