There are two reasons why you might not find an expected file in search results:

  1. The file has insufficient metadata content. The effectiveness of any search is dependent on the amount and quality of its metadata. For more on this, see Write great captions and Choose strong keywords.

  2. You may not have access to the space in which the file is located. If a file exists in a Chorus site, but is not within any space of which you are a member, you will not see it in search results.

TIP: Try a refined search to quickly check specific folders, or to search for metadata that is absent, rather than exact. See Refine a Search.
