RAW DRAFT ONLY: SCREENSHOTS TO COME

Step-by-step:

1. A folder will appear in your home space as soon as it has been shared with you.

2. An indicator of the user who has shared the folder can be seen in the top left-hand corner of the folder icon.

3. Select the folder and click View int he right-hand sidebar to see the details and metadata embedded in the folder’s files.

Note that the metadata you will see on a shared folder’s files is determined by the space in which the folder is located. See the folder’s location in the Info tab of the Viewing console.

4. Open the folder by double-clicking on it in your home space.

5. Notice that the viewing pane banner displays folder details, including the user who owns the folder, your permissions in the folder, and a list of the users who have also received access to this folder.

The actions available to you in the right-hand sidebar (such as New, Share, or Download) will be determined by the permissions you have to work with the files in this folder.

6. If you have permission to edit the shared folder, any metadata you add to the file will be embedded in the original file, in its location.

Good to know! You cannot onward share a folder that has been shared with you.
